At Silver Chase Farm, the care, welfare, and comfort of horses is our top priority. We offer full board only (no field board) for $700 per month, per horse. In addition to full use of our facility, our board fee includes twice daily feeding with Southern States' Triple Crown or Legends families of feeds, premium hay, kiln-dried, low dust bedding, and ample daily or nightly turnout (weather permitting).
We strongly believe horses are healthiest and happiest when they are provided maximum turnout time. All but two of our fields are limited to a maximum of two horses each, and the two largest fields will never have more than four horses turned out together.
During summer months, horses are generally out at night and in during the day; in the winter, they are out during the day and in at night. During spring and fall, we tailor our turnout to the weather on a day-to-day basis, maximizing horses' "outside time" and comfort. When the horses are in during the day, stalls are picked regularly and they receive hay throughout the day. When they're in at night, an evening night check is performed, and additional hay is given as needed. Hay is provided in the fields as conditions require.
We diligently strive to make sure our boarders and their horses are exceptionally well cared for, and that owners do not get surprised with numerous additional monthly charges. Consequently, we include the following other services at no charge: adding feed supplements/medication, sheeting/blanketing, bell booting, and attending horses for SCF-scheduled or emergency veterinary and dental care. As a service to our clients, we also will retrieve, groom, and tack your horse for free once per month.
