THE ULTIMATE IN BOARDING AND HORSE CARE
The care, welfare, and comfort of horses is our top priority.
In addition to full use of our facility, full board at Silver Chase Farm
includes twice daily feeding with Southern States' Triple Crown or Legends
families of feeds; premium hay; kiln-dried, low dust bedding; ample daily
or nightly turnout (weather permitting); addition of supplements/medications
to feed; sheeting or blanketing; bell booting; and attending horses
for SCF-scheduled or emergency veterinary, farrier, or dental care.
We strongly believe horses are healthiest and happiest when they are provided maximum turnout time. We tailor our turnout schedule to the weather on a day-to-day basis, maximizing horses' "outside time" and comfort. All but two of our fields are limited to a maximum of two horses each, and the two largest fields will never have more than four horses turned out together. Our pastures are lush and grassy in warm weather, and we regularly rotate them to avoid overgrazing. During colder months, hay is provided in the fields as conditions require.
OPTIONAL SERVICES
As a convenience for our boarders, we offer numerous optional services which
are invoiced separately on a monthly basis. These services include clipping;
full show prep (bathe, trim whiskers and fetlocks); mane pulling; mane and
tail braiding; retreiving, grooming, and tacking up your horse; and incidental
medical care such as foot soaking, cold hosing, etc. when necessary. In addition,
we offer a monthly full-service grooming package.
RIDING, TRAINING, AND
INSTRUCTION
Whether you've got a young horse that needs extensive training or an
old schoolmaster that knows the show ring well, we'll tailor
a program specifically to you and your horse. We evaluate both
the rider's and the horse's capability and experience and then
develop appropriate riding and training goals. Should your own horse
become unavailable, we often can provide a short-term lease of
a lesson horse so you can continue honing your skills.
HORSE SHOW ATTENDANCE
While we feel that horse showing is an invaluable training tool for horses and for
riders, we realize that the expenses involved in showing horses can, at times,
make it difficult to justify. We make a concerted effort to attend only those
horse shows that we feel provide an outstanding value to owners and their horse(s)
and, upon request, we will supply an estimate of costs for any horse show that
we plan to attend.
SALES PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION / BUYER'S AGENT
Image isn't everything, but a good image does help if you're selling
a horse. Silver Chase Farm provides a unique and exceptional environment
for preparing and presenting any horse to potential buyers. In
addition to benefiting from regular exercise and schooling, your
horse will be immaculately groomed and ready for inspection.
All of the horses here are happy and healthy, which fosters a
positive environment for both buyers and sellers.
If you don't yet own your own horse, we usually have several horses available for sale, lease or partial lease. If your dream horse isn't already in our barn, we'll serve as a buyer's agent for you in the search for your perfect mount.
